has served as an elder at the Grant Street congregation since September 1997, after serving as a deacon for 17 years. He and his wife, Winda Faye have been part of Grant Street since their marriage in June 1960. Eddie has attended Grant Street since his family came to Decatur in1940. He attended Freed-Hardeman University in 1958-1959. Except for two years in service in1963-1965, was the owner of Anderson’s Office Products in Decatur. They have three children, two sons and a daughter, and three grandchildren. His father, the late E. E. Anderson, served as an elder of the Grant Street congregation for many years.
Harold Bailey

has served as an elder at Grant Street since September 2003. He and his wife, Adonis, have been involved in the education program at Grant Street as teachers for several years. They have been at Grant Street since 1988. Harold and Adonis have one son, two daughters, and five grandchildren. Harold graduated from Auburn University in 1963 and Adonis attended Florence State. He has been involved in agriculture for 40 years, and is currently Seed Sales Manager for the Southeast division of United Agri-Products. He and his son also have a cotton operation in Limestone County. Harold is originally from Cullman County and Adonis is from Madison County.
Ken Pirtle
Ken Pirtle and his wife Carole are both natives of Cullman. They have two children and four grandchildren. All live in Decatur. Carole likes to hunt, garden, and read. Ken enjoys hunting, fishing, and taxidermy. Ken works his farm that is in both Tennessee and Alabama. He is the father-in-law of Keith Jett, the Youth Minister at Grant Street.
Jere Spurlin
Jere Spurlin has served as an elder at Grant Street October 2001 after serving as a deacon for 12 years. He and his wife, Ginger, have been a part of the Grant Street family since 1978. Jere attended David Lipscomb University in 1969 and is retired from Delphi Steering Systems. Ginger is a secretary at 3M in Decatur. Jere enjoys golf and building and remodeling houses. They have two children, a son, Will and his wife Amanda, a daughter, Kate Terry and husband, Jonathan. Kate and Jonathan are members at Grant Street.
Doug Weatherspoon
Doug Weatherspoon has served as an elder at Grant Street since November 2005. He and his wife, Carol, came to Grant Street in 1968. Doug graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1964 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Carol attended Mobile College and Wallace State, where she received degrees in Library Science and Medical Records. Doug retired from 3M Company in 2000. They have a son, a daughter, and two grandsons. Carol lost a lengthly battle with cancer in 2007
